The Survivor Who Will Fight for Every Victim.

Lauren B. Peña is not just a politician talking about human trafficking — she survived it. Her proposed SAFE NIGHTS Act and SODA Act are drawn directly from that experience.

Human trafficking is the second-largest criminal enterprise in the world, generating $150 billion annually. Texas is the second-highest trafficking state in the nation. Lauren B. Peña will bring a survivor's voice — and a fighter's resolve — to Congress.

Lauren B. Peña was trafficked. She knows what it means to be invisible, to be exploited, and to be failed by systems that were supposed to protect her. That experience is not a talking point — it is the reason she is running for Congress.

Texas ranks second in the nation for reported human trafficking cases. The Austin metro area, which sits at the heart of Texas CD-37, is a known trafficking corridor. Hotels, nightclubs, and online platforms are the primary venues where trafficking occurs — and current federal law leaves massive gaps in accountability for these industries.

Lauren has proposed the SAFE NIGHTS Act, which would require nightlife and hospitality venues — bars, clubs, hotels — to implement anti-trafficking training for staff, post reporting hotlines, and establish accountability protocols. Venues that knowingly facilitate trafficking would face federal liability.

She has also proposed the SODA Act — the Stop Congressional Immunity Act — which eliminates the special legal protections that have allowed members of Congress to escape accountability for sexual misconduct. If you exploit someone in Congress, you should face the same consequences as everyone else.

Lauren will also push to release the Epstein files in full, without redaction. The American people deserve to know who was on those flights, who visited that island, and which powerful figures used their positions to exploit vulnerable people. The cover-up ends when Lauren gets to Washington.

"

I survived trafficking. I know what it looks like, what it smells like, and what it does to a person. I'm running for Congress because the people who should have protected me never did — and I'm going to make sure that changes.

— Lauren B. Peña

Lauren's Plan

1.

Pass the SAFE NIGHTS Act

Require nightlife and hospitality venues to implement anti-trafficking training, post hotline numbers, and face federal liability for knowingly facilitating trafficking.

2.

Pass the SODA Act

Eliminate congressional immunity for sexual misconduct, ensuring members of Congress face the same legal consequences as every other American.

3.

Release the Epstein files — fully and without redaction

Demand complete transparency on the Epstein network, including all flight logs, visitor records, and any congressional or government connections.

4.

Fund survivor support infrastructure

Increase federal funding for trafficking survivor housing, mental health services, legal aid, and economic reintegration programs.

5.

Crack down on online trafficking platforms

Strengthen FOSTA-SESTA enforcement and close the loopholes that allow online platforms to profit from trafficking-adjacent content.
